Nerve Roots

Cause of the complaints are in the majority of acute disc herniation and/or wear caused by narrowing of the spinal canal or nerve exit points, which harassed and irritated nerve roots. With the help of thin needles, the drugs are injected with the aid of fluoroscopy or CT’s device to the affected nerve root. Used here are local anesthetics and, if necessary, anti-inflammatory drugs. This inflammation of the oppressed nerve root is combated and alleviated the symptoms. After the injection, the patients remain ambulatory for 30 minutes under observation in our practice areas and can then go back home. Often multiple treatments are necessary to reduce the discomfort in its entirety lasting. In many cases, using this kind of infiltration an operation can be avoided. After completion the infiltration physiotherapy treatment measures should continue to build up the core muscles and thus to support the spine permanently.

Vertebral joints (facet infiltration)

Cause of the complaints are mostly overload reactions of the small vertebral joints or their increased wear, which lead to premature osteoarthritis with an inflammatory reaction accompanying. With the help of thin needles, the drugs are injected with the aid of fluoroscopy or CT’s device to the affected spinal joints. Here are used local anesthetics (local anesthetic) and, if necessary, anti-inflammatory drugs (corticosteroids). This inflammation is fought in the osteoarthritic changes in spinal joints, thereby reducing pain. After the injection, the patients remain ambulatory for 30 minutes under observation in our practice areas and can then go back home. Often multiple treatments are necessary to reduce the discomfort in its entirety lasting. After completion the infiltration physiotherapy treatment measures should continue to build up the core muscles and thus to support the spine permanently.

Nerve Canal (epidural)

Cause of the complaints are in the majority of acute disc herniation and/or wear caused by narrowing of the spinal canal or nerve exit points, which harassed and irritated nerve roots. Using a thin needle, the drugs under sterile conditions in the amount of the affected lumbar spine segment or over the deepest point of entry of the vertebral canal at the level of the sacrum (Hiatus sakralis) are injected into the spinal canal. Used here are local anesthetics (local anesthetic) and, if necessary, anti-inflammatory drugs. The correct needle position is monitored by fluoroscopy unit. This inflammation of the oppressed nerve structures is fought and symptom relief occurs already after a few minutes. After the injection, the patients remain ambulatory for 30 minutes under observation in our center and can then go back home. In some cases, a repeat of this infiltration is reasonable and necessary to reduce persistently after a few days the complaints in their entirety. In many cases, can hereby be avoided, an operation. After completion the infiltration physiotherapy treatment measures should continue to build up the core muscles and thus to support the spine permanently.
